Returned back to the States where she was the head designer at Lilly Pulitzer for 3 years. After that it’s only fitting that she would start her own line one day. Hollywould was launched in Spring 2000 with her starlet-inspired shoe line. Dunlap has now expanded here line to clothing and accessories. “I knew what I wanted to do and was really focused from when I was little”.

3. Tamara Mellon

Tamara Mellon is the president and founder of a line of designer shoes called Jimmy Choo. Tamara was born in London with a strong understanding of both fashion and business because her mother was a former Chanel model and her father was a successful entrepreneur. Mellon worked at various places before becoming the accessories editor for British Vogue where her fashion instinct noticed a lack of luxury goods accessories in the market. In 1996 Mellon joined forces with Jimmy Choo with an idea of launching a ready-to-wear shoe company, then opened her first shop in London back in 1997.

4. Natalie Massenet

Natalie Massenet is the Chairman and founder of NET-A-PORTER.COM. After working as a fashion journalist for several years Massenet launched Net-a-porter.com in June 2000 after realizing that shops did not exist online for designer goods at that time. The company started off with a group of 5 friends and colleagues, Net-a-porter was created with modest funds but big dreams and ambitions. Today there staff has grow to over 100 people and an online partnerships with Vogue.com, JimmyChoo.com and Chloe.com.

5. Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney is an English Fashion Designer. She is the daughter of former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and his first wife Linda. At just 15, she was already working with fashion heavyweight Christian Lacroix on his first couture collection. She later went on to study fashion design in London, and received plenty of attention at her graduation runway show modeled by Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon and Kate Moss – for free! After launching her own line, McCartney signed on as chief designer at Chloe, then later left in 2001 to develop her own label as part of the Gucci group, and opened her New York store in 2002. Good for her.
